Any way to map a remte button to a dynamic menu element?

Is there anyway to map a remote button to open a screen or to open a dynamic menu element? Or more specifically to map a dynamic menu element to one of the 5 custom buttons?

I see there is no way to do this the way SageTV is but I wonder if there is something I can do in Studio (as I'll be getting access to play with that)? The amount of remote presses required to get to certain screens is becoming a deal breaker in my house with the short attention span kids.

Maybe this thread should be moved to the Studio forums?

Can you give me an example of what you are trying to do specifically to limit number of remote presses? Almost anything is possible as SageTV is pretty customizable.

You might try this plugin. I don't know if it will work with the latest version of SageTV or SageMC as I haven't had a chance to test or update it.

In my dynamic menu import for the base STV, Right-click an menu item (or press ESC/Options/Yellow while highlighting it), Edit Menu Item, Set Shortcut Key...

You have a selection of a few shortcut keys there, including Custom1-5..

Note that some (such as Setup and Library) are not so useful as they will be triggered when you leave certain screens (such as Detailed Setup)
