irremote issues...I think

The silver remote that came with my PVR250 works great with Sage with the exception of one thing. I can't seem to use the skip and replay buttons during recorded playback. The time scrolling works and so does the 10 sec default skip forward and backwards using the ffw and rwd buttons. Does anyone know if there is something I have to add in my irremote file to get them to work?

Those 2 buttons are assigned to F5 & F6, which are used for Page Down & Page Up in SageTV. You would either have to assign new leys for those buttons in your irremote.ini file, or reassign F5 & F6 inside SageTV. Either way, you lose your ability to scroll by a screenful when viewing lists in SageTV... unless you assign that functionality to other keys on your remote.

Thanks Opus4 for the quick reply! So are you saying that you can't have a button on the remote do two different functions depending on what part of SageTV you are using (i.e. Guide vs. Playback). I was hoping that the buttons I use for page up and down in Guide could also be used for REW2 and FFW2 in video playback. This isn't possible? If not, how does one go about changing the remote functions in irremote file then?

There used to be a site that had someone's own documentation for the irremote.ini file, but it seems to have gone offline. Google for something like: "hauppauge irremote.ini documentation". Look for the links for dschnabel's links & click on the "Cached" versions of the links... and then save a copy of the page on your computer. For simple changes, you can see what irremote.ini looks like & assign different keystrokes to buttons by following other examples.

I don't remember how v1.4 assigned key commands, so I don't know if it was possible to assign the same key to different functions. v2's interface prevents such duplicate assignments -- besides you can scroll the listing AND control the preview playback in v2's list of recordings, so a duplicate assignment would cause a conflict there.

Found it! Thanks. I'll have to look it over and mess around with it when I get home! I haven't gathered enough courage yet to try v2. Hehe.
