HDHomeRun Not Playing Nicely w/ STBs-LM Gestion
OK, so after a few hours of reading and tinkering, I was able to get LM Gestion controlling my 2 STBs in Sage with the MCE IR Blasters. Very cool!
Now, I wanted to add my HD HomeRun to the equation. So, here's what I did: Add new source Selected the HDHomerun Choose "Digital TV Tuner". No need to wait for the preview. Choose "Digital TV Tuner" again. Choose "Use Tuner on Capture Card to tune Antenna/Broadcast". Choose "Use US, Canada, or XMLTV Guide Data with this Source". Choose "Cable or Satellite" Choose my cable provider (Digital version, Extended service). Choose "No - scan for channels later". *Now, this is where it gets interesting. The channel selection already has the channels I had selected when setting up my Hauppauge 150 tuners with LMGestion/MCE IRBlasters. So, for example, I selected channel 211 WTVDDT, selected remap, remap to a different physical channel number, and enter 16 (the x value in the x-y-z remap). When I select View, the channel is displayed just fine. Now, it gets weird. I finish the setup, then go to Live TV. If I'm watching, say, Channel 51 (a non-HDHomeRun channel) it works fine. I then try and tune to channel 211, which I had expected to be tuned on the HDHomeRun as channel, Sage stays on the Hauppauge 150 feed, and tunes to channel 16 on the STB, completely ignoring the HDHomrun. It's gotten weirder as well. I've deleted the HDHomrun source, then recreated it, and now it appears to only tune on the HDHomerun. If I go to a channel that's mapped on the HDHR, it works beautifully! However, if I go to channel 51, I get "No Signal" and the STB does not even change channels. Anyone have any ideas? |

I think that this may be a lineup issue-STV has trouble with different sources on the same lineup. It's my understanding that each tuner has to have the same channels for a particular lineup. So if your analog tuner is set to Comcast tuscaloosa and has channels 1-76, a digital tuner set to comcast tuscaloosa has to use the same lineup.
What I used to do was pick another lineup and manually map the scanned channels to that lineup. Sometimes there will be multiple lineups for your city (different providers, "digital rebuilds", etc) and sometimes you need to use a different city. The problem with using another city is that for local channels, there are sometime programming disparities for non-national shows, such as late night syndicated episodes. The other option is to set the HDHR to your local lineup and have it do all the local channels and map your non-HDHR tuner just get the national cable programming from another lineup (this will require that you remap the numbers, which usually vary). Someone else may have figured out a smarter way to handle this. Last edited by fyodor; 07-10-2008 at 10:00 AM. |

I think this multiple-lineup issue was fixed in the latest beta. I haven't honestly tried it yet though as I already had my setup for my HD-PVR on a nearby-city lineup and my other tuners on the local lineup.
Definitely check the latest beta on this though as I swear it was one of the improvements added. EDIT: it might have been 6.4.3, not 6.4.4 that added it - see the notes here Last edited by Brent; 07-10-2008 at 10:13 AM. |

Care to elaborate on the tweaking required? I'm about to tackle this and would appreciate any guidance.
