DVD Error: problem accessing the filesystem

I have about 50 DVDs ripped to a NAS (NASLite) sitting on my home network. I've played many of them and haven't had any problems.

Today, I tried one that I don't think I've played before, and got an error that I can't figure out.

This is the error:
Code:

I've highlighted the actual error code, although I'm not sure how useful it is.
I can play this ripped DVD via VLC from the server (and another desktop) fine, so I don't think that the files are corrupt (although I guess there could be something that Sage doesn't like, but VLC is fine with.)

Any thoughts? Again, the other DVDs are on the same NAS (all imported via UNC), and continue to play fine on my HD100 and MVP.

I initially saw this with SageMC, but confirmed that it occurs with the stock UI as well.

The file permissions, from what I could tell via XP, looked the same on these *.VOBs as they are on other VOB files from other ripped DVDs. I confirmed that the Sage Service is using a username + password.

Thanks
Matt

I had this problem yesterday connecting from a Vista client to my Linux server. But only to the files which were on a Lacie NAS mounted as a sub directory.

I'm bumping this just to see if anyone else has any thoughts. I guess I'll send it in as a bug report if no one can think of anything obviously wrong.

Thanks
matt

I've just got this problem too, with WHS. Works fine with all over content, but not getting any luck with DVD's (which do not have CSS).

IIRC for DVD's VIDEO_TS folders need to be accessible via the same path for both the server and the client. So that means that you need to make sure that either...

a) You're only using UNC paths for video import directories (easiest solution if you're only using Windows)
b) The drives are mounted/accesable via the same drive/path (i.e. "V:\dvds\...") on the server as they are on the client. Also, if you have it setup this way, you may run into occasional errors where the drive becomes disconnected and your system fails to auto reconnect.

And the user you are using to run Sage is the same user ID on your NAS?

Do any of your other DVD directories contain spaces? or are they using underscores? I don't use ripped DVDs, but spaces in UNC paths are knowsn to cause problems from time to time. Perhaps rename the folder to Charlie_and_the_Chocolate_Factory?

Many do contain spaces, and they all work fine. I was planning to rename the folder anyway, so perhaps I'll rename it to something without spaces just for kicks...

sure...

i use windows home server, so i RDP into it. then i go to my "shares" and right click on "videos" (this is where all my movies are). click "properties" and then "security". you will see a list of users and then their permissions. i clicked "add user" and searched for the user of the client computer "home 1" that is running the sagetv client. i added that user and gave it all permissions (probably overkill but whatever) and then clicked the checkbox that says "force inheretince of all permission to files, folders, etc.". it runs for a few minutes and then you're good. for all future subfolders it should automatically apply the new permissions, you just have to force them once.
