HD PVR & STX-100 Setup Woes
I have been reading up on setting up HD PVR and the media extender. Following a bunch of threads I got 6.4.5 Sage TV and my stx-100 has version 20080710 beta as well.
The info on this forum has been vital, and I am pretty close to a stable state, but there have been some issues.. - Slow tuning, like 30-40 seconds from channel select on the STX-100 to actual video & audio synced. (Using IR Blaster) There is a bit of stuttering after every channel change too, but goes away. - Audio is slightly off like 5ms slower than the video [ Read a couple of threads, and heard there is a ticket submit, but havent heard about a solution ] - Sometimes there are garbage lines at the top or bottom of the screen. Like white and black flickering. [ This is just a cosmetic thing] Biggest and weirdest issue: If the HDPVR tunes a SD channel and records it, the STX-100 cant play it without stuttering and choppiness. But if you tune to a high def channel, it all works great. Server: AMD X2 4200+ / Win XP Pro / 2GB DDR Ram 1 TB SG Sata 2 x 250 GB SG IDE Nvidia 6600 GTS using DVI => HDMI to my TV Tuners: PVR-150 /PVR-250 / HD PVR 1212 Clients: Media MVP / STX-100 Seeking Guidance, G

What is your video source?
The "garbage" lines are most likely the closed caption data. Normally this would not be visible due to over-scan. But I have found that the Sage playback narrows the picture a little so that it can be observed. If your source is Directv, I just changed to these devices: http://www.patersontech.com/products...ranslator.aspx These are far superior than the IR emitter (although the docs are a little misleading). Not sure about the audio sync... I have not seen that since the latest beta.

Thanks for the letting me about the white spots, at least it is good to know what it is. I hope others can help with the weird SD stuttering issue. I am saving the stuttering video just in case.
