Java Exception Error ---> How to correct???

I just installed the trial version and was in the process of viewing and doing a couple of recording samples. I only had Sage running about 20 minutes and all of a sudden the PC shuts down and reboots. When I loaded Sage I get the "Trial Version" info box and when I click "OK" I get the following JavA Error Message:

Jave Exception
An exception occored in Java:
Jave.Lang.IllegalArguement.Exception: Malformed\uxxxx.encoding

I tried to re-start Sage several times and re-booted XP. Checked in the Java consol and found nothing. Nothing helps.

What is this??? I searched the forums and did not come across this Java error.

Thie PC I'm using is freshly built HTPC and it did not have Java installed. The Java install came from the Sage install package.
Is this a known error and how do I go about correcting this?

I'm guessing that sage.properties (orsageclient.properties, depending on your config) got corrupted when the PC crashed. It may have a lot of garbage at the end of the file. Check sage.properties.autobackup to see if it is valid; if not, then just deleted them & reconfigure.

BTW: it is a good idea to make regular backups of all the .properties files (settings) & wiz.bin (database), since those are the most important files.
