Problem with capture device

I have an ATI HD Wonder 650 that "works", except for an unknown condition that cause Sage to produce an error. It seems to happen overnight and is fixed by restarting Sage.

I don't recall having this problem until I set-up a video source which uses the Digital TV tuner on this device. This card is not listed as being supported, but I am able to tune and record OTA HD.

The errors produced are:

When trying to use the Digital TV input - "There was a Capture Error in playback. Details: ERROR(-2,0x80004005): There was a problem using a SageTV component. Please re-install the SageTV application."

When trying to use either of the other inputs - "There was a Capture Error in playback. Details: ERROR(-4,0280070057): There was an problem using the capture device. Please be sure you have the latest drivers installed for your capture device, and that they are installed correctly."

All I have to do is restart Sage and everything works again. I am running Vista. I suspect either Vista or Sage is doing something overnight that is causing this condition? The only thing I'm aware of Vista doing is creating a system restore point.

Since upgrading to 6.4.6 beta, I have only had this problem once and it was within the first few hours after install. I think it may be attributed to the following update:

5. Reset each capture device at least once every 24 hours to prevent PTS rollovers

I suspect that it hadn't got around to working it's magic the one time it happened.

So, it appears that an ATI HD Wonder 650 will work in Sage. I'm able to capture composite, analog and OTA HD. It also seems to do very well picking up OTA HD. I'm able to tune all available channels with an inexpensive indoor antenna, with one of the broadcasts coming from 30 miles away. No luck with the clear QAM, though. But that's the case even with ATI's Catalyst software.
