Some DVR-MS plays, some doesn't
Thanks to Babgvant, I have imported my MCE recorded TV into Sage. Unfortunately, not all of it plays. Some of the shows briefly bring up the play bar, with the first half blue and the second half red, then goes to the Stop/Restart/Delete menu. There are a couple that give me render errors. All were recorded from the same source.
Has anyone run into problems like this with DVR-MS? Converting them isn't really an option right now, because I don't have an extra TB lying around. Ian |

Were any of these recordings from CableCard? If not they should play fine in SageTV.

You also need 6.4.6+ to playback ATSC files correctly.

Same thing, and all my errors are ATSC files - I will try the update and see if that does it. This whole "your problem might be fixed in the latest rev of the software" thing is new to me...

I got a chance to play around with this some more, and I found that if I copied the shows that won't play into another folder, they would play fine. If I used TV or Videos to play a show that is in the Recorded TV folder (where I pointed Babgvant's conversion utility) it won't play. If I use Videos to play the same file copied out to another folder, it worked.
Is there a problem then with the Sage metadata created by the conversion utility? The metadata doesn't follow the show when it is moved, right? Ian |

Copied or moved?

Copied. Now that I think of it, I started out moving the files to another folder to keep track of the ones that wouldn't play. It was ony after I started copying them that they worked.

I think I figured it out. I reimported the XML and selected "Use imported file data to determine start time" - The second option instead of the first, and that seems to have fixed it.
