"Refresh Imported Media" ?
Silly question:
In the 6.4.3 Beta I had a checkbox on my "Refresh Imported Media" dialog that said "Notify when scan is complete"...and it would pop up a dialog saying the scan is complete when finished. On 6.4.8 I have the same thing, but the dialog doesn't pop up when the scan is complete (broken)...Sage Support says this *isn't* a stock feature. Anyone know which import put it there? I use Neilm's Dynamic Menu, JB (JREKiwi) Mini-Guide, CPU/MB Info, CallerID, Close Media File, WoMP, IMDB, and SA/ComSkip Plug In. P |

Really? 6.3.10 did not have that checkbox, it appeared when I jumped to 6.4.3. I have all the same plug-ins from before, so nothing changed there.... how could it not be part of the stock features?

Easy... by not being part of the default STV. If it were, I think I would have remembered making such a change.

Dynamic Menus plugin adds that option for the notify checkmark.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but this seems to be broken on my setup. It was working on the last release version. I get this when I try to use the button in the Setup Menu:
Error: Unknown Internal Screen "Refresh Media Library SHORTCUT"

In sagemc goto detailed setup > setup Menu > Refresh import Data. After you hit refresh inport data then you can return to your sagemc stv.
Or you can install the nielms webadmin then you can refresh bottom of main screen in the web browser.

I don't use MC at the moment. I have the webserver installed, but would rather be able to refresh from the UI instead of firing up a browser to do it.

I believe you can also (but can't verify now) from the default. Go to your setup menu and look around. It's not built into sagemc, I believe it's the default stv.

From SageMC go into My Videos. Keep the menu on the right side highlighted and hit "Options" on your remote. (or Ctrl-O on your keyboard) You shoudl now see the options dialog to refresh your imported directories or refresh your DVD Profiler info.

Maybe I wasn't completely clear the first time...
The link (Refresh Imported Media) in the default UI under Setup is broken. On the local client and all the extenders. It still works from the webserver. Guess I should file a bug report.

If you are getting the error in the first quote, then you probably have some customization installed because there is nothing called "Refresh Media Library SHORTCUT" in the default STV. You should check your customizations instead of filing a bug report. In the default STV, "Refresh Imported Media" in the Setup Menu simply starts the library refresh scan; it doesn't try to jump to any other menu. - Andy

This feature comes with the Dynamic menus STVI. Now with that being said, is there are fix or something else doing this function? Nielm?

Question. Using SageMC, How long does it take to update the library if I change the name of a file on a local file? If I refresh the library, does it re-import all the files, or just the changed ones? Seems to take a while to have the library update when I change a file name.

It's refreshing the entire library.

I hope they change this in future releases so it refreshes faster, or I guess I could have a staging area to rename files prior to putting them in my import directory.
How are others handling this?

Just to add a bit more detail -- it rechecks all directories in the library to see if any existing files have been removed/changed, and if any new files have been added. Only metadata from new/changed files is re-imported.

Opus is correct of course. I have the Dynamic Menus loaded. What I don't know how to do is fix the link itself. So I still have to use the Web Server to refresh the media list. I'd like to get it working again in the Sage UI.
