Extender Stuck in Updating Loop
I moved to the most recent firmware a few days ago on 1 of my extenders. Downloaded, intalled and worked fine.
I just came home and turned the extender on and the "bar" on the top of the screen says "Updating" and a I get the "spinning circle of death" Tried rebooting. It boots fine to the Main Menu Scree n but still says updating. Tired a firmware update (both beta and regular) but none are available. Ideas? |

Restart SageTV on the server & see if you still have problems connecting using a default setup.
That bar is a customization. If using the default STV, set this property in your HD100's property file in the "clients" subfolder on your SageTV server, named using the HD100's <mac address>.properties: enable_extras=false If using a custom STV, then edit the HD100's properties file & remove the STV= line, or at least change the path to point to SageTV3.xml. Oh, and if you upgraded SageTV on your server & are using service mode, make sure you've reconfigured the user that the service logs in as because that gets reset during the installation process. - Andy

) have you tried rebooting your server PC? The spinning circle would imply that it is trying to read the harddrive I think.

Looks like it was server issue. Sage has been so reliable, I didn't even think to reboot the server. My bad. Server reboot and all is well. Thanks for the quick advice/help.

Different problem, found solution
I was having a problem with one of my extenders where it would go through the initial startup screen and when it actually connected with the server it would then just go into standby. I reloaded the firmware several times with no improvement. I was about ready to contact Sage support when I saw this thread. When I went to look at my properties file for this extender I noticed it was way bigger than any of the others (~1.4M vs. 7k). I replaced the properties file with a copy of the properties file for my other HD extender (stopping SageTV service, of course). Other than having to restore a few tweaks, all is well again.
