Remote and Video Problems

I have recently had to install Sage tv on another system. A system it has been installed on and working fine on before. Though it was an earlier version of Sagetv.

Problem 1.

I am using the PVR 150 Capture Card with its remote. I have used the ircfg software that came with it to choose the proper Cable Box. I set it to allow outside programs to control the remote.

I have it set to the 45 button remote in sagetv as it should be. It navigates the menus and everything just fine but it will not tune channels. It is not sending signals out the irblaster. However I can load irconfig and toon the channels just fine.


Problem 2.

I have my video set to 4:3 as it should be but it does not take up the whole screen. There is black space on the left of the screen.


Any advice on these issues would be appreciated. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling sagetv with no success.

I guess no one has any thoughts or advice on this? Maybe ill have some luck with requesting official help.

1. So you are using the Hauppauge IR blaster and the bundled HP software for tuning your cable box? Did you setup Sage to use the EXETuner plugin? Since Sage does not have native support for the HP IR Blaster, you need to use EXETuner in order for Sage and the HP IR software to communicate together. I have never used it as I use a USB-UIRT, but many people have gotten it to work.

2. Sounds like your Video card's Overscan is not set correctly. What video card are you using for outputting the image to your TV? If you can provide this, then others with that video card can help you further...
