Edit playlists?
Is it possible to edit the playlists in another program (like notepad)?
The playlists must be stored somewhere, and editing in SageTV takes forever, especially if you want to move multiple files at once... Thanks! |

Yes and no... I did add the Playlist manipulation in SageTCPServer, but since you need to add the object, it is more complicated than just editing a text file...

SageTV playlists are stored in Wiz.bin along with everything else, and are not directly editable. However nothing stops you from creating external playlists using some other app and then importing them into Sage.
I do almost all my playlist editing in Windows Media Player, and just reimport the .wpl files into Sage when I'm done. (You can also edit .wpl files directly in Notepad.)

Is there a special way to import Playlists?
I have several WPL playlists but it doesn't look like SageTV is able to find them for some reason... |

They should be imported along with everything else in your media import directories. If that's not working, open up the .wpl file in Notepad and make sure the file paths it specifies are in a form accessible to Sage. So for instance if you run Sage in service mode, mapped drive letters in the file paths won't work; you'll have to change them to UNC paths.
Note that WMP auto playlists won't be imported by Sage; just explicit track lists. If all else fails, enable debug logging (see the FAQ for details) and check the logs for error messages.

I'm on Windows Home Server, so UNCs are a must.
Last question: But are relative paths allowed? |

Sage can correctly parse .wpl files that contain relative paths. But WMP doesn't seem to want to save files in that format; it always restores the absolute paths when you save. My workaround has been to open them up in Notepad after saving and search-and-replace the file path prefix to make it relative again. (One of these days I'll get around to writing a VBS script to automate that.)

Excellent! Then I should get this to work!
