How do I point "Custom5" to the a menu?

I have spent more time than I'd like to admit to simply point a menu of my choice to a Custom5 (or the other Customs). I used to know how to do this in older versions of SageTV 6.x using studio. However, things have changed so much I can't figure it out.

All I want to do is link Custom5 (or maybe Custom4) to the *Sleep Timer menu.

Thanks in advance for the quick help!

I don't know how you were doing it before, but you should be able to do it by creating a Listener widget for the desired command, and then placing a ref to the desired menu below the Listener. Obviously the Listener will have to be placed somewhere where it's syntactically valid (i.e. where it's legal to put a Listener) and where that command isn't already in use by some other Listener in the widget hierarchy. To affect multiple menus, create a global Listener, or put your Listener in some widely-used menu theme.

That much hasn't change in a long time. I assume you're talking about SageMC since there is no Sleep Timer menu in the stock STV. So maybe your problem is that the menu structure of SageMC has changed in such a way that the menu you want either doesn't exist anymore, or expects some global variable setup that you're not doing. I'm not a SageMC user so I can't help much with that aspect.

Hi, I dont know much about studio. All I know is the below instructions from Dirk used to work about 6-8 month ago. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. Studio has changed things around about 6-7 months ago, and this method no longer works. I'm just looking for instructions as clear as the ones given below.. that work for "today's" SageTV. Hopefully, someone is kind enough and knowledgable enough to do the same thing Dirk did a while back.

I grant that what you see in Studio when you bring it up on SageMC may have changed a lot, but again, those are changes in SageMC, not in Studio. The general style and format of editing in Studio still looks like it does in those screenshots. The specific content comes from the STV.

I can't give you updated screenshots of exactly where to edit in the current SageMC, but if you bring up Studio on it, find the Movies menu, right-click on it, and choose Highlight References, that should help you figure it out.

Okay Greg Anyway, maybe someone will see this thread and already knows how to do it. I've already tried as much as I can before posting here. If it was close enough to the older method, I would have already got it working...
