When shows run late...
The Chargers vs Jets game ran late last night. Causing everything after it to start about 45 mins. late. I had Boston Legal set to record as a favorite from 10-11. But got 45 min of Dancing with the stars and only 15 min of Boston Legal. Is there a way prevent this? THANX!

You have to set padding on your favorite for boston legal. I usually pad an extra hour on CBS and FOX on Sunday nights because of football. I always pad an extra hour when recording a sporting event. It can be a pain when part of a show is on one recording and the rest is on another recording, but you do what you have to.

BTW, NO PVR setup that I have ever heard of can fix this other than by padding the way DFranch spoke of.

I usually just pad out to account for it. I believe that there is a plugin that may address this. The main purpose of the plugin is to insure that the sports game is completely recorded. You can probably go to the network web site and watch your missed show on line. That is what I did when I missed most of a show because of a stupid football game. Sports without time limits should be banned on entertainment channels IMHO.

Slugger has a great utility that works with extending recording time for sports events. It may be able to help you in this situation. Check out the posts here.
