Homerun trouble

I have checked a few different threads and I am having a little different problem with my Sage TV and homerun not working together.

I used to be able to record multiple HD channels through my homerun on Sage and after an update, my homerun doesn't want to play nice. Any suggestions?

I have Sage TV version - 6.4.8.184
Homrun software version 20080727.exe

Did you do a channel re-scan with Sage shut down?

Since upgrading to 6.4.8, I have found that the SageTV service does not shut down when you right-click the system tray icon. You have to ctrl-alt-delete and close the service there (Win XP, at least). Once you shut Sage down, open the HDHR setup (or configuration, or one of those apps that comes with it), go into your channel lineup setup, and rescan the channels.

Once you have that done, open Sage and go into the video sources setup, pick each tuner, go into the channel setup, and do a channel scan in Sage.

Hope that works for you - it did for me....

You mean following the setup instructions from this sticky?
Tuner Configuration Tips & Instructions

If that is configured correctly, what type of network connection do you have between the HDHR and the SageTV server?

I never close SageTV for simple rescans. But...

This is not the correct way to stop the service if you really want to do that. If the service is configured to restart automatically, it will simply start again if you just kill the process. And, killing the service prevents a clean exit.

To stop the service, you should use SageTVServiceControl.exe or Windows' service controls.

Also make sure that the HDHomeRun Manager sees both tuners first. If not, you might have a DHCP problem.

You might have to delete the FRQ and SCN files in the SageTV directory, shut down sage and its service and rescan as pjpjpjpj suggests above.

If you're running VISTA, you might have to find/delete those SCN files from other places on your system before you rescan.

If you cannot detect the HDHomeRun tuners with the "HDHomeRun Setup", check for a flashing light on the power supply and a flashing light on the HDHomeRun unit. If those lights are flashing, you probably have a bad HDHomeRun power supply. I bought my HDHomeRun quite awhile after the bad power supply problem was reported. I assumed that my power supply was a newer model, it wasn't.

SiliconDust mailed me a free replacement power supply after I entered my information on their web site. The new power supply fixed the problem immediately.

I second that had the same thing happen to me about 2 weeks ago but went to radio shack and got a replacement until silicon dust sent the replacement. Took a total of 3 days to get replacement

I have followed all the suggestions and still cannot get Sage and Homerun to play nice.

Everything about the homerun says it is good to go. I can see and hear audio and video using VLC.

What does that mean? What is, or is not happening?

I just bought another HDHR from NewEgg, the power supply (wall-wort) that came with it is marked "HDHOMERUN Model DSA-0051-03-FUS 50100F INPUT 100-240V-50/60HZ 0.2A". It has no light and weighs about a third of the what the other HDHR powersupplies I have do. Does anyone else have this PSU?

Hi,

The power adapter is correct for use with newer 1A HDHomeRun units. All newer HDHomeRun units ship with this power adapter.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the power supplies that Silicondust uses with their HDTV?

My power supply has always been plugged into a conditioned supply (UPS) and it failed 2 months after the warranty expired (14 months).

As stated on the boards they have had problems with their power supplies in the past.

I would like to hear for people experiencing the same problem with their power supplies.
