Verizon FIOS w/HD-PVR

I have the Hauppauge HD-PVR (model 1212)
and Verizon High Def FIOS STB model motorola HD QIP7100-1
all standard stuff
how do I get the HD-PVR to control the STB?

The remote works fine to guide me in the SageTV menus, but it is not changing channels
and I don't see how to tell it which STB that I have.

Read this post and replace your .ini file with the new remote one at the bottom of the post. Be sure to back up your original .ini file in case this one doesn't work for you.

I have the 6416 and with one exception (the play button turns on my screensaver) the new remote ini works fine. Haven't had time to sleuth out the problem.

thanks, just did that.
But still won't control the Verizon box.
How do I tell it which box I have?

i.e. I installed the IR Blaster file
http://www.hauppauge.com/site/suppor...ort_hdpvr.html
but no option for Verizon FIOS boxes.
i'm not asking aout using the remote per say, just how to have the software turn on the verizon box, and set the channel to what I have scheduled to record.

I just found the learning function and after I taught it each of the keys on my FIOS remote it said that it was successfully learned,
however when I tested it - nada.

fyi - I use firewire to control my two verizon HD STB. I am using the Motorola HD QIP6200-2. I have no experience with the 7100.

My model number, 6416-1, is on the front bottom left hand corner. In the BlastCfg program I chose the 6400, figured that it was close enough. Choosing that allowed Sage to control my STB, had to use the new_remote.ini file in order for my remote to work.

The BlastCfg program came on the HD-PVR software disk. I had to run though the installer multiple times in order to get all the programs to actually install.

Throughout all my remote problems, the IR Blaster has always been well controlled through Sage. The only tweak I've made was to lengthen the delay between sending commands via the IR Blaster.

Sounds like a new box. I'd try the 6400 profile though. I have two types of moto boxes and they both have the same remote for fios.

I tried the firewire option
but it installed the AV/C Tuner Device, but not the
AV/C Panel Device
couldn't find a driver for that.

Guess there isn't any driver (yet) for the 7100 (only the 6200 and older)

Guess I'll call verizon and ask to switch boxes.

Does anyone know if there is any difference in PQ between the 6200 and 7100 (b/c the PQ on the 7100 was excellent)

thanks

There is an updated driver file that was required for my QIP6200 STB AV/C Panel Device. The AV/C Panel Device would not find any drivers when I pointed it at the drivers that came with the install.

I googled and found
http://home.comcast.net/~exdeus/stbf...#_Toc185690661

which seemed to work in part as now the tuner shows up when I execute channel command
but still not the panel
I tried changing channels - nada

Ditto for using this driver (which seems more recent)
