Program has been damaged

I am now receiving a message box that reads:

This program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it.

I uninstalled, reset, reinstalled, reset, and I am still getting this message. I have checked for viruses and found nothing and I have scanned the hard drive and it is fine.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this working?

Thanks,
Darrell

Have you reinstalled Java? Or, perhaps, installed the most recent version? Since SageTV is written in Java, the Java Run-Time may be causing you your problems.

No, I only installed Java when I originally installed the SageTV program on Wednesday. I haven't done anything to Java since then.

In addition to the suggested Java reinstall... I would double check the health of your drive by downloading the diagnostic tools from the drive's manufacturer, creating a boot floppy, and running the quick & extended tests (that don't change any data on the drive) to see if the drive is still functioning correctly.

Scandisk & similar programs don't always detect problems.

I ran the drive health tester from Maxtor who made the drive and all was well.

However, I went in and deleted the "Frey Technolgies" folder from the "Program Files" directory and did a reinstall and everything worked fine so there must have been some corrupted file left behind after the uninstall.
