The DVR model shown is the "Echostar TR-50" that was previewed at CES back at the beginning of this year, isn't it? How long has it been out?
I first started looking into this thing (which led me to Sage) back around the time of CES. My wife and I wanted to go OTA-only, but still have DVR functionality. At the time, the TR-50 was being promoted as the only "packaged" single-box option for DVR function with OTA, and it was scheduled to be released in July. There was no price given but people were expecting it to be around $300. Instead of waiting, I discovered Sage. I'm glad I did. Out of curiosity, I think I searched around in August or September to see if the TR-50 had been released and I couldn't find much - I think it had been delayed. Maybe I couldn't find anything because they renamed it "DTVPal"? On edit: yup, it's the "TR-50", pre-orders started this past Wednesday, and they expect them to ship in early December.... from what I have found, the main concern is that it uses TVGOS for the EPG data (OTA) and many are concerned that it won't be able to reliably get EPG data for a far-enough-ahead window....
