Well, I bit the bullet and purchased the 950Q. According to the SageTV system requirements page, the 950Q is supported. I just hope that I can record QAM. New Egg is selling this for $49.99 after $15.00 Mail-In Rebate.

Was anyone able to get the HVR-950Q to work with QAM in SageTV? I'm interested in getting this stick, but only if I can receive the unencrypted local cable channels in my area. Thanks. * merged *

I ended up canceling my order. I wasn't confident that SageTV supported QAM with this tuner.

Worked for me. I had no issue with the QAM tuning in both the Linux and Windows versions. |

Thanks for the reply. What version of Windows are you running? XP or Vista?
