Tuning to channels gives blank screen

I just want to see if anyone else has the same problem with me, and if they've found a solution.

I've got a single FloppyDTV-S2 tuner in my machine (no CAM), and when I try to change to certain channels (some tend to be much worse than others - BBC Three, More4+1, Film4) all I get is a blank screen. If I change to another channel for a few seconds, then change back, it will often start playing the channel properly.

When this happens, sometimes it will show the proper timestamp on the screen at the bottom (e.g. 0:15:44 out of 0:30:00, to show me how far into the show it is), but more often it will show a crazy timestamp (e,g, -12332324334:00:00 out of 0:30:00).

Any idea what could be causing this?
