I have the Nvidia 8200 IGP. The connection to my HDTV is via HDMI.
I repost my system info: Acer x1200 AMD Athlon X2 64 4850e Nvidia 8200 IGP Aver M780 (came with generic MCE remote and blaster) ATI 650 Vista Home Premium x64 Comcast STB - Motorola DCT-2224 I can't see why my IGP would be a problem. It works fine with the same tuners/hardware/content in VMC. I can also playback everything fine in graphstudio (both content recorded with SageTV and VMC). HA working here
@Thaddeusz - thank you so much for your setup advice. I'm using the Cyberlink decoders for both mpeg2 and mpeg4 playback. For x.264 encoded mkv contained videos (tested both 720p & 1080p), i'm getting 2-7% CPU utilization!
Sage-recorded mpeg2 HDTV videos (recorded at DVD Standard level) are using a little more CPU, 7-15%. Is this consistent w/ your testing? I'm not so concerned of the absolute numbers (since we have different hardware), but rather the relative difference in mpeg2 and mpeg4 utilization. @Opus4 - This is on 6.5.4 beta, FWIW. A readme or other addendum to the documentation would be helpful for future EVR & DXVA configuration. Last edited by h2guy; 12-19-2008 at 01:25 PM. Reason: update |

Yea, I don't know why but MPEG2 playback takes more CPU than MPEG4. I suppose there is more GPU offload for MPEG4 video.

T^2, did you ever get this resolved? I'm having the exact same problem. Recordings made by Sage stutters badly, but are silky smooth in WMP.
