I am not sure how it is handled, but I would look at Stuckless' imdb importer. It supports DVD Profiler and I believe it supports sets as well.

I made a change to DVDProfiler to support sets, but it required pre-processing of the DVD Profiler XML.
I found that properties files worked much better, I created a stylesheet for that two
