Welcome to the HD Theater forum for its use as a Media Player
We've opened this new forum whose focus is the use of the SageTV HD Theater in standalone mode, meaning using it while it is not connected to and acting as an extender client of a SageTV server.
Please continue to use the SageTV Media Extender forum for all issues related to using the STP-HD200 as an extender client of a SageTV server. Thanks. - Andy P.S. If you've got an idea for a better term than "Standalone mode", please post it.

Perfect!!! I bought my dad one for Xmas! He is only going to use in SOLO-mode. I know you can hook up a theme when I have time I'm going to try it.

BTW: we're changing our terminology for use of the HD200 HD Theater on its own from "standalone mode" to "Media Player".
Using an HD200 as a Media Player means using it while it is not connected to a SageTV server. It can be connected to a network so that it can access network media files and/or internet media, or it can be used without any network connection, accessing media files on a USB drive connected to it. The Media Player UI is self-contained on the HD200. Using an HD200 as a Media Extender means using it while connected to a SageTV server, so that it is a client of your SageTV server. It can be connected via a local network (often referred to as an 'extender' client) or a remote connection (usually referred to as using it as a 'placeshifter' client). The Media Extender UI and media content are provided by the SageTV server. - Andy
