Video Thumbnails
I'm trying to get cover art for the DVD's I'm archiving onto my HDD's. I can't seem to get the thumbnails to show for each DVD. I've read the manual and it seems pretty straight forward, but obviously I'm doing something wrong. I've tried every variation of naming and placement of the JPEG, but none have worked. For example the movie "Open Season". I've tried naming the JPEG as folder.jpg, Open Season.jpg, I've tried making a new foder and naming that folder.jpg then putting the actual JPEG into that folder and naming that variations of the above. What am screwing up here? I keep refreshing imported media, Restarting the PC, etc. The target is K/DVD/Open Season/Video_TS. I got the cover art from nicecovers.

The cover can be one of....
Code:
K/DVD/Open Season.jpg K/DVD/Open Season/folder.jpg K/DVD/Open Season/Video_TS/folder.jpg

Ok. I've tried 64x90, 110x150, and 170x254. None of them will work. I've tried varying the number of columns and rows in the DVD menu to see if I needed to make those views bigger. No luck there. I have K/DVD set to import pictures as well. I can't imagine that 64x90 would be too big could it. What sizes are you guys using?

I don't know if it's my largest one but some of mine go as big as 500x800. The only problem I've had is when I had the image either named wrong or in the wrong folder.

Maybe Sage is simply not "noticing" that the dvd has a thumbnail. I only have one dvd in my collection and I haven't noticed any issues with sage picking up the thumbnail. You could try removing and re-adding your import directory.

Thanks for the replies thus far. Still no success. I've added the cover art into the files every which way I can think of. I have re-added the import directory. Nothing seems to work. Maybe I'm expecting to see the DVD poster where I'm not going to. I was thinking I would see it in Main Menu>Media Center>Videos>DVD where I see the list of all my DVD's by title. Don't the thumbs replace the plain DVD icon and title?
UPDATE: I finally got it. I was naming it folder.jpg when all I had to do was name it "folder". I'm assuming the extensions are hidden or something like that so it was reading folder.jpg.jpg.

you have "hide extensions of known files" in windows turned on.
Goto windows explorer, tools -> folder options -> view tab uncheck that option: hide extensions of known files |
