Should Placeshifter be working for HD-PVR files?
I am using 6.5.6 on both server and client and I get very stuttery playback when trying to use Placeshifter to play HD-PVR files over my LAN without transcoding. I can play back these files using Sage Client but with Placeshifter, on the same client PC as SageClient, I get about 1 frame every 3 seconds.

I have the same problem. Audio comes in perfect but like a slide show for video. I am also able to view with no issues with the client.
I know it is not hardware related as my client and server have plenty of CPU and Graphic power. |

720P & 480P channels should work with placeshifter, both transcoded and across the LAN. I just verified that LAN placeshifter works fine here. 1080i I am not sure about, as I know it has a problem with transcoding, but I don't know about the LAN side of things (I disabled 1080i on my STB).
Check your sage.properties file on the server (not sageclient.properties) to make sure there is a line for "videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=" I know the client will automatically add a filter if it detects one, but I don't know if it gets added to the sage.properties file as well. So if it is not there, copy that line from the sageclient.properties file to the sage.properties file and give it another try.

I was finally able to play from the HD PVR on placeshifter. I have 2 STB and 2 HD PVR. I switched one of the STB's from 1080i to 720p as the output on the STB box and after doing so I have good play back. I only have a 720p anyway and really can't see much difference.

Since this thread was moved from the Software forum to the Beta forum am I to assume that this is only an issue in the 6.5 beta and not in the 6.4.8 release
