SageTV Beta 2.0.14

Any ideas when or what it will contain?

Is this becoming a tradition?

I'm guessing it will contain some fixes and perhaps even a few new/improved features.

As for the other question: When? The answer is: Yes.

Since I stumbled across this I guess I have to respond

As you all may have noticed version 2.0.13 was mostly SageTV core changes where 2.0.14 will be a few core changes but mostly UI enhancements. It won't be released until next week.

That's all for now....

Sorry Andy, but I take exception to your prognosis. I think .14 will have some fixes and some new and improved features as you said but also some new bugs I believe are planned.

ETA? Before the release of .15. You can bank on that.

I cant say that I relly care when the next beta is coming for funtionality reasons. This version does everything a pvr needs to I do want to help Frey with bug testing though. What I cant freaking wait for is studio! I am dying to intergrate the features I currently use myhtpc for into sage itself.

Heh he that sounds like a personal problem samson! I dont have a 350 so I am not aware of the issues with it. What I meant is that for me, Iwould be satified if sage was feature complete at this time and they just ironed the bugs out.

Yup... For me, I am happy with the feature set (that is unless Jeff could make it play/stream WMA & WMV too... ).

I am ready for bug squashing and STUDIO at this point.

Yes... people have to realize that a beta _has_ to have bugs. Without them, the beta testers get frustrated because of their lack of ability to break the product. When that happens, they tend to leave the beta process... thus the careful planning of bugs help keep the testers alert, interested, and above all: feeling _useful_. That sense of accomplishment when a bug report is filed is what keeps everyone going. When it is all over, the survivors, oops I mean satisfied testers, have a brand loyalty that just can't be bought.

I still have some serious issues on my personal feature/bug list, though they are more apparent for users outside the US, namely the PAL-bug, which was partly fixed in 2.0.13. I also look fw to better power management, for those of us concerned about power consumption/electricity bills. Related to this, I still have problems with no TV-OUT, waking up from hibernation.

Though I agree 100% that the present release is awsome, there is still room for improvements, as there should be

Studio!? Well, that's a completely different matter.... (can barely wait )

Probably... but not in v13. They said they were able to fix it, so I'm sure it will be in the next version. You know about the workaround of only deleting shows that are currently playing, right?

Doesn't that workaround only work if you are using the preview window? I have the preview window function turned off (except for in the Media Library, where I can't seem to turn it off).

No -- it works at any point after you start playing a video. I don't have previews on either. For me, the easiest thing to do is to go to the Recording Detail screen (where you delete it anyway) & Watch Now. As soon as it starts playing, use your Back command to return to the Detail screen & delete it. You may need to assign the Back command to a keystroke/remote button if you haven't done so already.

Great! I'll give it a try at lunch. I do have the back function mapped. It would sure be nice if pressing the left arrow while playing a video would take you back too (hint hint).

Bisbjerg, did you notice the new version of SageWake I posted here? It does your XML log output like you'd wanted.
