Clear Qam Recording sizes too large?

Perhaps I am missing something, but my clear QAM recordings seem way too large. I have a HP 2250 dual tuner card. One is set up for analog and one for digital. I have set both the analog and digital to record in "Good DVD MPEG2" quality, but somehow the digital recordings are around 6 gigs an hour! (Good DVD is supposed to be 1.3 gigs).

Has anyone else seen this? Is the quality setting ignored for digital channels?

Thanks!

Digital recordings are the digital streams going directly to the hard drive. Quality settings are ignored for digital recordings.
