HD100 doesn't go past "starting SageTV. . . " message

I've had the HD100 for awhile now, and now it stalls at "starting SageTV . . ." message.

I can depower it, repower it and operate that "start up" menu functionality just fine. It "sees" the correct server, can check for firmware. But after that, it soft reboots, and stalls at the message "starting SageTV . .. ..

I have another, albeit SD MVP media extender and that works just fine off the same SageTV server (our home desktop PC). I've had them both working before at the same time, so I don't think it's some kind of conflict---but it could be.

I've tried reverting to the standard firmware from the Beta. Perhaps I need to downgrade the SageTV software as well to an older version?

Anyone else out there have any ideas for a solution.

I tried the stuff in the manual. It hasn't helped.

Do you mean that you can get to the list of servers, but it fails after you choose to connect to a server?

If so, check the 'clients' subdirectory of your SageTV install path (where sagetv.exe is located). Look for the <mac address>.properties file that corresponds to the mac address of the extender, then move it & its .autobackup copy to another directory (or try using the .autobackup copy), then try connecting with the extender again.

You are correct, I can choose the server, but thereafter it locks up.

I did as you suggested, and still it's locking up at the client level.

As a side note, a new client properties file and backup were created.

I've tried everything possible under the sun, short of getting a witch doctor. I've done items suggested here, from tech support, from the other posts on this forum.

My MVP SD media extender works. I know my network works (but I have rebooted it). The HD100 can see the server, but just hangs thereafter No matter what firmware, no matter what version of SageTV.

Is it possible that it's a software issue on my server machine level? Should I do a clean install of SageTV? What's the downside of such a thing beside time?

Is it possible that the HD100 itself is malfunctioning? Can it's internal processor or memory be locking up trying to run whatever application it's trying to run at that point? Does it have some kind of diagnostics I could access?

On a side note, I recently added the Roku Netflix device and that thing rocks. Solid and reliable and AOL easy to use. Plays the streamed content in HD if able too! Could the introduction of that into my home theater system have made the HD100 jealous? And yes, I've tried trouble shooting without the Roku device in the loop and it made no difference.
