Windows home server add-ins?
With all the threads on windows home server my interest was perked and I applied for the 120 day test. It just arrived today and I have it up and running on a test system, so far I am very impressed
One thing I have to ask though is what plugins are you guys using? I am specificaly looking for Sage/media related plugins but I will try anything. |

This is sort of related ... Thought I'd ask here before starting a new thread ...
Is anyone running YAC on their WHS based Sage server? If so, what modem are you using? I've got a USR5670 (I think, I'm at the office today and can't double check right now), and while the Win2K3 drivers installed just fine, YAC never seems to see any Caller-ID info being picked up. And since WHS doesn't come with HyperTerminal any more, I can't figure out how to "connect to the modem" manually to view what, if anything the modem is seeing and reporting. <scratching my head> I really want to use ShadeofBlue's Extender supporting Caller-ID PopUps, but ... I have to get the basic YAC working first. ![]() Thanks, pat----

@Pat - I don't have an answer - but when I used YAC a few years ago I had trouble getting it to work and it was due to my phone company (Bell Canada) using non-standard headers for CID. For example YAC is looking for "NAME=" and my modem was receiving "NAME = ". Of course that is a lot harder to troubleshoot when you don't have Hyperterminal but perhaps you could try the modem in another PC (with another OS with Hyperterminal) first. Or you could look for a terminal program that you can download from the web. Check out this web page for more info http://www.talkingcallerid.com/ModemDriver.htm
Let us know if you find a solution - as I would like to add a modem. The only problem is that I don't have any free PCI slots in my PC as thy are used by tuner cards and my video card. I could solve this by replacing my existing ATI 9250 PCI video card with a PCIx video card but I haven't wanted to spend the money to do so. I am wondering if a USB modem would be an option?
