ERROR starting Sagetv with 32bit java

I get an error when trying to start sagetv using 32bit java (bin-32jre):
(the bottom line that has the user's prompt does acualy fill with that line and doesn't exit) I don't know what to make of it. can someone hel.

sudo ./startsage
Changing to SageTV directory /opt/sagetv/server/.
Executing pre-scripts
Starting server mode
[<user>@localhost server]$ ./startsage: line 46: java: command not found

after that if I try to run the client I get :
sudo ./sageclient.sh
Changing to SageTV directory /opt/sagetv/client/.
(followed by a user prompt)

FIrst off, we could use some details about your system. What distro? What version? 32 or 64-bit (given that you said 32-bit Java, it's probably 64-bit system).

After that, try the following things:
- After attemptimg starting the server, is there a sagetv_0.txt logfile in /opt/sagetv/server? Do the timestamps indicate it's from the attempt you just made? What does the logfile have in it?

- After you run startsage, do 'ps auxw | grep -i sage'. Do you see a sage server process running?

- From the command prompt, can you run "java"? The other bullet points are just for more information. But, I suspect java isn't in the path. If it's not, where did it install?
