Auto Compress - alter a bitrate?

The auto compress feature has divx as one of its transcoding settings. Can I edit something to alter the bit rate used for the video or audio.
If I can do this one thing I wont have to install the quite lengthy video tools plugin.

I believe those settings are in the .properties file in the transcoder/formats line. I think br\=8000000;] is an example of the bitrate. I don't know what additional switches there are or what you want to change it to. BUt make a back of the .properties file before you do. Also search the forums for more details.

Don't edit any of the existing settings, as they will get overwritten next time SageTV starts.

Instead, copy and modify one of the existing properties and give it a new name.

Almost there - how do I select constant bitrate audio.

Jrekiwi,
thanks for the great software. I'm almost there and had a copy of a setting that worked for me but now for some reason the videos produced will no longer play sound on my archos.
The setting is pasted below. It seems to be producing variable bitrate audio in stead of constant. Is there something I need to set in xvid configuration or is there a paramater I need to add to the line below:

My setting is:
transcoder/formats/MPEG4-SEAN\ Quality\ Deinterlaced\ AVI=f\=avi;MCompressionDetails\=-vtag xvid -deinterlace;[bf\=vid;f\=mpeg4;br\=1500000;w\=720;h\=576;fps\=25;][bf\=aud;f\=mp3;sr\=44100;ch\=2;br\=128000;]

thanks

Actually - Ive just used gspot to determine that my files created with the above settings have mp3 audio and not mp3. Anybody any idea why that might be so and how to I reset it?

What version of SageTV are you running. I thought the MP3 encoding was removed a while back.

version 6.3. That would explain it. Meant to say the files end up with mp2. Id like mp3. Is it easy to add back? I specify mp3 in the compress setting...

It was removed from the build of SageTVTranscoder, as none of the SageTV profiles use MP3, so it's not something that you could add back.
