HVR-1600 dual tuner issue
I have a HVR-1600 tuner, I originally setup the card with the analog tuner and everything was working perfectly. Then I connected the digital tuner to the cable so I could record two shows at the same time. But appears the software is only using the digital tuner now. I see the analog tuner in the setup and can preview the stations there but none of my extended stations are recording. If I use the client to watch tv it only sees the digital tuner or at least only the stations that the digital tuner has access. I would like to use both tuners at the same time, is that possible?

when you go into tuner setup does it see both the analog tuner and the digital tuner? If not then it sounds like a driver problem. I'm running three of these and the only time I remember the program having trouble seeing or using both tuners was due to incorrectly installed drivers

I have two 1600's and can use both tuners on each card at the same time. I am pretty sure I have actually had all four tuners going at once.
As Ryokurin asked, do you see both tuners in the "Setup Video Sources" menu (e.g. Hauppauge WinTV 418 Video Capture TV Tuner and Hauppauge WinTV 418 TS Capture Digital TV Tuner)? If you see them both, I would think they both should be able to work at the same time. |

I do see both of them and they both seem to have channels using the setup option. But when I watch LiveTV or try to record I cannot figure out how to use the analog tuner. The analog tuner has stations that the digital tuner doesn't.

And did you enable those stations in the channel lineup when you set up the sources?

I thought so because it was working prior to me enabling the digitial tuner. Also I see the stations in the Setup portion of the software. I just went through the setup again and noticed the tuners says they are functioning and the digitial tuner is setup for LiveTV.
I was thinking the Client software could choose the tuner but it appears to be a server setting? Just need to find that. I guess I'll review the station setup to make sure they are enabled. |

Well I guess I should have tried the obvious, I rebooted the system and now it is working correctly. Thanks for the responses.
