New upgrade to 6.5 - some feedback

Everyone,
Yesterday I upgraded from 6.4 to version 6.5. Some background: Vista-64 Ultimate, Radeon 4850, 4GB memory, two HVR-2250 tuner cards. I have been running 6.4 for the last 6 or 7 months. The update was painless - just installed right over top of the old installation. Everything worked well immediately after the installion - some notes.

.I expected some benefit from EVR - I use PDVD7 decoder and going from EVR to VMR9 results is the same CPU usage (15%-30% depending upon the feed)
.I also tried the Microsoft decoder but just as in 6.4 with VMR9, the CPU usage is always higher than the PDVD7 one (30%-45%) - EVR did not change this
.I switch the FF/RW from 10sec to 1sec and like this setting quite a bit better - in 6.4 1sec never worked well
.the HD youtube stuff is great

Is this the expected benefit of EVR? Is there some setting I am missing?

I also changed to the newer mpegdemux.ax with no noticeable benefits for me.

I just went through the 6.5 release notes and came up with a list of stuff I am going to mess with
.change the VRAM limit from 120MB to 150MB (it sounds like this is the new default)
.I need to remove the MS MPEG decoders from the properties file (they are listed twice now in the settings menu)
.change a numEVRinputpins registry setting for CC support

Did I miss anything?

Thanks.

Just out of curiousity, is Aero enabled on your system? I'm not certain if it's true or not, but I've read that EVR does not function fully unless Aero is enabled on a system.
Also, have you upgraded to the latest Catalyst drivers?

Yup, Aero is running (transparent title bars). I saw that potential issue as well but it sounds as though if Aero is not installed, EVR is not even an option.
