Anyone else having issues with hdhomerun QAM?
How are you doing it are you remapping in the hdhomerun software or just entering the guide names.
I tried it last night and tuning is very very slow and sometimes it never tunes. Never had this issue on my media center computer so I know it is not a tuner or network issue. It sees the tuner fine but when I got to channels it is terribly slow if it ever shows a picture. (this is on the pc and hd200 extender) Any help should I try generic mappings in hdhomerun and tell sage it is a OTA tuner? |

Once in Sage, you can change the logic channel number to whatever you want it to be (in my case mine get changed to 8-1 and 13-1). Works perfectly every time.

These are the HDHR setup instructions on a Windows PC, if you haven't already followed them:
HDHR setup for Windows Is the HDHR firmware & SageTV software both up to date? - Andy

Hey guys thanks for the response.
Yes I followed the hdhomerun instructions to a to and mapped them to the 700's where my cable company has them within the hdhomerun software and selected digital tuner in sage setup and selected expanded service. When it does the scan it says it finds the 5 channels but they don't show up green dots next to them. I am running the current beta hdhomerun software/firmware and current sagemc. I really am getting stumped on this because I expected to set it up and it work but I am not seeming to get anywhere. I may try the old trick sage into thinking it is an ATSC tuner and remapping in sagemc but would rather not have too if I don't have too. Is it possible there are media center process running that could be interefering? I mean I do have media center but have never set it up or used it on this pc. |

Edit: Also, you are making sure to edit the actual name of the channel right? Not just the channel number? My cable company has all my channels tagged as WOI-DT and WHO-DT but zap2it has it listed as WOIDT and WHODT. If you don't change them to the same name, then Sage will also have problem....

Make sure you set up the HDHR from the default STV and NOT from SageMC. As paulbeers stated make sure in the HDHR setup you change the channel names ans the channel numbers to what the Zap2It site says it should be. (Same station name you should see in the Sage EPG)

When it does the scan it finds the 5 channels. When I go to 705 or another one hit view it is hit or mis sometimes they come in sometimes they aren't there. Doing a re-scan will add someother but take away another or two.
I have the names matched exactly with ZAP to it I will play with more tonight as I knew it "should" work. |

If you rescan and you lose channels, that sounds like a signal issue.

I would agree. If the signal is good, then the same channels should always show up. Might be time to consider an amp.

Shouldn't be a signal issue as hdhomerun reports great signals and I have used this tuner in MEdia center (vista) without any signal issues.
