Clean out old metadata created by My Movies before creating new metadata for SageTV?

I'm new to SageTv and liking it a lot. I had put about 80 ripped DVDs on my server's hard drives (still have about another 125 to go) and had used My Movies to put the metadata/cover art in the ripped folders for each movie. I'm updating each of these movies with metadata that Sage can use since My Movies doesn't work with Sage. Should I go into each movie's folder and clean out the files/metadata left by My Movies before updating each movie for SageTV metadata formats, or just leave it all alone?
