Some usability thoughts
Just a few suggestions I'm hoping will make it into the final release or shortly thereafter, although I would like to say that I'm very happy with 2.0.
1. Positive output of channel information on the TVGuide. When I enter a channel number, it doesn't display it on the screen.
2. No channel numbers when using images on program details page. When not using the channel images, the station identifier and number appear. When using the images, that information is no longer available or is hidden due to the image. It would be great if that information remained.
3. Ability to set a favorite for a show that is not within the 2 week TV Guide window. Let's take the case of "Bless the Child". It's not going to be on within the next 2 weeks and currently I would need to check once a week to see if it's going to available. It would be fantastic if I could create a favorite and it will keep searching, from day-to-day, until it finds it and then puts it in my recording schedule. Better yet, maybe have another screen that show a list of these items. You could put a flashing icon (much like the show conflict notirication to alert the user that it found something. This prevents me from having to check all the time and possibly missing something because I'm tired of checking. I realize the value would more of a keywords search within a specific field (name, description, etc), but the more specific I am with the keyword, the better the match.
4. I'm hoping the Studio will give us the ability to increase the fonts on the TV Guide as well as in the OSD.
5. Rather than having to create a musical playlist, it would be great if there was a "play all and shuffle" button. When you have hundreds of songs, it take a lot of time to create a playlist. Also, creating this playlist with a remote (no keyboard and mouse) is no picnic.
