"-1" TV recordings showing up in Video Library
Some of my Recorded TV shows have multiple files - these generally have -1 at the end of the filename in addition to -0. For example I have "BlueVelvet-3632909-0.mpg" and "BlueVelvet-3632909-1.mpg". In many instances the "-1" files are showing up in the first level of Video Library. Are these supposed to be there? Have they been orhpaned off of the "-0" file? Is there any way to fix this?

You get files that end in -1, -2 -3, etc. if there are "breaks" in the recording. If you look at the timeline you will see red areas showing that there are missing sections of the show. Something is happening causing the recording to stop and then restart.

But if these are TV Recordings these should show as 1 title in your Recorded TV Library. If they are showing up in your Video Librbary that means Sage has lost the TV media information for that recording and is treating it as seperate video files. In Recorded TV it will play all the -0, -1, -2 files as 1 cohesive recording.

Exactly Gerry - is there any way to get Sage to realize that these are all one title - such as the AdvancedFile Recovery, or can I manually tell it using the Sage Web interface?

Sorry, I didn't realize they were showing up as separate.

I see this problem too, I'm using SageMC and the -1 files will show up as 'unassigned' in my videos folder (View by genres) The complete recording (-0 & -01 files ) show up OK in recorded TV

brewston-if they show up in both places-correctly in Recordings and also in your video library then I would think it is a bug. Unless you have your SageTV Recrodins directory also as a Video Import directory. Gerry

I have not compressed or aletered these files in any way - they are all the original .mpg files that are multiple files for same reason - perhaps Sage was restarted during the recording.
I am not 100% sure whether the -1 (and -2, etc) recordings are associated with the -0 recordings. I will ahve to watch one of these and see if it includes the entire program. In almost all instances these are actually movies that are 2 hours or so long. But I would think the should not show in in my Video Library if they are still in TV - that would efinitely be a bug.

I've had multiple files for TV Recordings before and they never showed in the Video Library. Could be a new bug with the latest. But I've also never seen the -1, -2, etc. be that long. Mine have always been the same program/movie with the same file name either -0, -1, -2 appended to it. Total up the file size would equal the size of one program or one movie. I could never see the time for these files because they didn't show in the video library for me and there was only the one title of it in the TV Recordings.

Bump
Does anyone else have any suggestions on how to fix this - I tried switch Advanced_File_Recovery and that didn't help.

I have seen this happen when the files are transcoded.. outside of sage. I stopped transcoding multiple part files...by using SJQ which is able to determine if files have multiple parts.

I also had trouble transcoding multipart files outside of Sage. Some parts would end up in Videos instead of SageTV Recordings. Sometimes, one or all parts would be deleted by Sage. I never found a solution and eventually stopped transcoding multipart files altogether. I also stopped using the one tuner which was responsible for 90% of said files.
