Problems with HD200 and SageMC

I loaded up SageMC on my Server (SageMC16x9) - http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...do=file&id=141

I then go into my HD200 -> servers and Connect to my Server. From the Main Menu I go to Setup -> Advanced -> Load Application Package and change to SageMC_169.xml

When I do this I now get an error message "Failed To Load SageMen...Fall back to Standard" and the HD200 locks up on me. The only way I can get back into the server mode is to edit the client properties file to load under SageTV3.

To make matters worse, I did a hard reset just to confirm there were no problems (unplugged, held down Delete button while I plugged back in). When I go into system update to update to the latest firmware the HD200 tells me that there are no updates, the most recent version is 20081230 0. Prior to doing the hard reset I was able to update the firmware to the latest.

Any ideas?

Reboot your server.

Hi Damian,
First off, you're using this with SageTV on a computer (server) right? So the HD200 is in extender mode?

I agree with Gerry that you should try rebooting your server and then going back to the HD200...

You shouldn't need to edit the properties or anything.

To get the latest beta firmware, go to the firmware update in the menu and type in ("2382" for beta) and it should show if any beta firmware updates are available

Brent/Gerry,

First off, thanks for such quick replies. It appears that a reboot was in order. Now everything works, loaded up SageMC 6_3_8b 12, AMSI 2.0a, and TV Info Screen. From extender mode I am able to watch all my 1080p mkvs without a glitch, makes it worth the cat6 I just ran today for my mom to get her set up on the HD200. Also, this was my first run on AMSI 2.0 versus v1, nice touch with having the backgrounds show up as you tab through each movie.

Brent - I will try your suggestion on the firmware update, just weird that it worked fine when I first set up the HD200, but after the hard reset it wouldn't.

Appreciate the help guys. The HD200 was for my mom to get her set up on my network. If she can use it then anyone can!!! Although, I like the HD200 so much I may have to sneak her my AppleTV that is collecting dust for the HD200

Hey, somewhat unrelated, any ideas on where things stand with DTS playback? I have several of my HD mkvs that have DTS audio, yet on the HD200 I get no sound. If I recall since the HD200 is HDMI 1.2 there is a hardware limitation that won't allow for playback of this audio, so possibly a software solution (albeit not lossless) could be worked out? Once again, thanks

If you are running in service mode, you have to stop and restart the service after installing SageMC 169 (reboot also works as you found out).

I actually ran into this weekend as well after converting my Sage install to service mode.

Thanks. I actually just did a brief write up of my experience setting up the HD200 over on my blog:

Thanks for this information and your blog. I had run into this same problem and thought I had hosed my HD200. I've been trying to figure out how to get SageMC to work on the extender and this was the answer I was looking for.
