Sounds very cool, what channels is it going to support?

I think this came up once before -- SageTV still needs to work with SiliconDust to add support for the DVB version of the HDHR, so it most likely won't work with SageTV at the moment.

Would you not of been better off with one of these.

Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T 500

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/prod..._novat500.html

They work very good for a fraction of the price.

Unfortunately i only have 2 pci slots and they are both full so to add more channels this seemed like a good option. They are certainly very expensive though.

Cool, at least you got it to work Do you know if they will work with the HD channels that are coming later this year (fingers crossed) over DVB-T?

Not a clue im afraid. We (TyneTees) wont be getting HD until 2012 anyway. It says it will here but i have my doubts as i thought the UK HD needed DVB-T2 tuners and i dont think they are.

Im just glad it works after seeing opus4 comments i thought id have no chance. Im still using 6.4.8 so not even the latest version.

Ah, That makes sense that you'd need DVB-T2 tuners. Oh well I guess I'll stick with my DVB-S tuners for HD, not that they work all that well at the moment.

I'm glad to hear it worked. SageTV developers haven't worked on that tuner yet, so maybe the work to be done was on SiliconDust's side. (There may still be issues for SageTV to work on, so keep that in mind if you run into problems.)

You can pick up a dual USB DVBT tuner for around £50... :P

I am considering getting an HDHomeRun DVB-T box to replace my nova-T500's which I think have been causing intermittent (but very annoying) BSODs on my WHS SP2 system - Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (D1) problem. Also the nova-T500's also seem to have a problem in that they don't work correctly when you come out of standby - so I could solve two problems in one go

I was just wondering what the latest state of play is with the HDHomeRuns in the UK and whether users are happy with them before I take the plunge?

Do you have the Note t-500 with two ariel sockets?

I had one and never got it working without getting BSOD#s (on XP)

I bought the single ariel version from a shop where I could check the version before buying and havent had the same issues since.

Would be nice to be able to received HD though. Didnt think HD homerun woudl even work in the UK!

You won't be able to receive HD. Terrestrial HD is not being broadcast anywhere in the UK yet & when it does start it will be using DVB-T2 & thus all existing equipment will need replacing.

No, mine is the PCI card with one aerial socket and two tuners. I have two of them installed (giving 4 tuners) and also a PinnacleSys 7010ix (2 DVB-s and 2 DVB-T) - so I have 8 tuners in all

Mine is working fine at the moment, you do need a strong signal though my 2nd aerial is not up to being split and so i only use one tuner at the moment.

Thanks for this information
The digital signal strength in my area isn't that strong as I am mid point between two transmitters - that's even with a high gain directional TV aerial and amp.
Sounds like it might not be a sensible option for me at the moment.
