Mark, look at the following screen capture.

There should be 5 members listed, but only 4 show up.

Who's the phantom member?

It just means that someone has selected to hide when they are on the forums. It's an option in your user profile.

Probably a competitor or a supernatural being...

Let's go with supernatural. The competitor would just be crying about how good SAGETV is and will be.
