How/Where to install plugins on the Mac?

I can't find the info anywhere.

How exactly, do I install plugins on the SageTV for the Mac? I found /Library/Application Support/SageTV/Plugins/JAR, but putting the files from the autocompress plugin in there (and restarting the SageTV backend) doesn't seem to do anything.

Am I missing something?
