Satellite TV Question

So I am moving shortly and I am going to get a satellite connection. (Bell I think) My question is, how do I record shows. My co-workers have been telling me that with satellite I will not be able to leave sage unattended to record all my shows. I will have to manually change the channel to accomplish this. Is there something I am missing, would I just use the IR receiver for sale in the Sage store?

Any who, any input on this would be greatly appreciate as I am pretty new too all this, and right now Sage works great and I don’t want to lose the joy of my PVR.

SageTV will use the USBIRT can control your satellite receiver to change channels as needed to record programs as scheduled.
