menus are completely transparent
I'm using overlay with 3d accel enabled and with video background all menus are completely transparent - there is no blue at all, which makes it very difficult to read text. Anyone else experiencing this?
thx |

I see the same thing, I'm not sure it's possible to to semi-transparent with Overlay. With VMR9 things are semi-transparent.

Yep, I see the same on my SageTV server machine w/ a PC monitor. It has an Nvidia FX5200 video card, just in case.
On the SageTV client PC w/ PVR-350 TV-Out I have the blue background but the text is now also transparent, making it even harder to read -Matt |

Just right click and it should go back to blue.

If I use overlay, I get completely transparent. If I use VMR9, I get blue opaque and the video detaches from the GUI and plays in a windows called Active movie |

You can also set it to the previous setup where it plays in a window in the upper right hand corner. The option is in the detailed setup and then the video menu setup under the multimedia section.

Its not a problem. Its how it is suppose to work. They are using the video as the background. To "fix" this they would have to put a background over th background. Thaths what made overlay transparency hard. I like what they have done. Its very functional on my TV.

I love the transparency. I do see issues here and there with it showing up correctly on the screen but all in all I personally like it. Plus I know it will be fixed so no biggy with me.

Disabling Overlay Color Keying in the Advanced Setup menu turns transparency off in Overlay Mode on my setup.

Personnally, I don't like this transparency. It make text difficult to read and the interface look drafty : when I'm navigating the menus, I first see a blackbox moving before it's filled in with the text. (I use overlay)
I prefered the previous solution with the videobox in the top right corner. Regards Ferdinand

You can change the type of video used in the menus in Setup/Detailed Setup/Multimedia/Video Menu Setup...
There is a choice between Background and Windowed. You can disable transparent Menus/OSD when using overlay in Setup/Detailed Setup/Advanced Setup/Overlay Color Keying (Enabled==transparent menu background) (see the post 'Ghosting on OSD' for other issues with this... |
