Mix and match channels?
Is there any way to combine channels from different lineups?
I live in San Diego (not yet a supported market, but hoping it will be soon), where I subscribe to Time Warner Cable. I can get almost all my stations from the Los Angeles Dish or DirecTV listings, but sometimes (e.g. Sci-Fi Channel) they are the east coast feeds, which are 3 hours off from what Time Warner San Diego serves me up. So I wanted to try combining those LA DirecTV channels which seemed accurate with some channels from the LA Time Warner cable lineup by adding an additional source, but there did not seem to be a way to accomplish this; the guide simply switched to the new cable lineup. I did note that when I switched back, the guide remembered my remappings (whew!). Am I missing a way to do this, or will I simply have to choose between local channels and certain west coast feeds? Thanks in advance for any ideas. Bill |

Your best bet is to find a cable lineup that has all of your stations in it, you should be able to. Try using zip code 92305 and selecting Charter Communications. It should have most of your San Diego locals and all of the other cable channels you're looking for...of course you'll have to do the mappings again, but this should work at least.
You can also try zip code 92335 and selecting Adelphia Cambridge Also, try any other zip codes around that area to see if they've got the local stations you're looking for on their cable lineups.
