Timed Recordings very limited
Because of a lack of reliable program information on one channel, I have been scheduling a Timed Recording Monday through Friday.
1) Is there any way to Edit a Timed Recording entry if I make a mistake or change my mind? Is the only choice to delete it and recreate it? 2) The inability to set a Start Time before the current time is really limiting. If I am in the middle of a show and want to record it NOW, AND in the future, I should be able to set the record time to, say, the beginning of the hour and then set the repeat schedule. Every VCR I ever owned did this easily, but not SageTV. 3) Setting repeats doesn't give the common option of M-F recording (yes, I know you can do it with about 20 keypresses, but that gets old time after time). 4) If I stop a Timed Recording, it seems that SageTV decides it should cancel all future repeats. It should at least ask if that's what I want! 5) An advanced program like SageTV should ask you to give a name to a Timed Recording, not just display "Timed Record Recurs MonTue..." |

You should probably send your suggestions and requests on to the support@sagetv.com email address - these are user-to-user support forums and aren't necessarily read the support / programming folks.
Unfortunately, you're using a part of the program that doesn't get much use - most of us have reliable guide data so we're setting up favorites and that sort of thing. In what way is the guide data "unreliable" for that channel? Is it off by a couple minutes? First run / rerun set incorrectly? Completely missing sometimes? Is it the U.S. Guide data provided by Sage or are you outside the U.S? Quote:

This channel often has "Scheduled Programming" instead of the names and times of programs, etc. So, sometimes it picks it up as a Favorite but most of the time it doesn't. It's US Data, the "-2" channel of the local PBS affiliate. The rest of the data has been reliable except for one time when it just ran out of data and I had to prompt it to download -- don't know why.

There is an entry in the SageTV FAQ that details how to report bad EPG data to the folks at SageTV so that they can harass the EPG provider about it.
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...704#post119704 Might be something to try. |
