wma9 audio to ac3 or dts

I have some WMV files with 5.1 audio tracks and would like to convert the audio to ac3 or DTS so I can get the 5.1 sound (sage will only output 2.0 channel sound from the wmv movies). I have been able to encode to 2.0 ac3 but no luck so far keeping the 5.1 channels. Can this be done?
Thanks for the help

Enabling it is really easy.

Ask Sage to support multi-channel WMA. If enough people do, they will have an incentive to move it off the TODO list.

I'm not aware of any tools that do this, although it wouldn't be hard. What container would you want to target?

Ok I have been able to do it using Foobar2000 to create a wave file and then eac3to to create a 5.1 ac3 file. However remuxing a vc-1 codec video file with the ac3 file gives be occasional video stutters on playback so back to square one.
