Preparing for the new HTPC build

The next shipment of parts should arrive on Thursday. Before I take down the current HTPC, should I uninstall SageTV first? Will it matter when I setup the new build?

Not unless the computer currently running it is still going to be active. If you're replacing it with the new server there's no reason to uninstall it first. If you're adding the new server and the existing Sage server will still be on the same network you may want to at least shut off the service when you install the new copy.

Thanks. No server for me. I wish I knew how to build one that could actually work.

I'm replacing my HTPC completely and the old unit will no longer be running HTPC functions. I just wasn't sure if SageTV was like some softwares, like Adobe, where you can't reinstall Photoshop unless it's been deactivated from the previous install first. I'll just uninstall it this evening. I hope Sage can run on Win7.

Someday, I'll make that server.
