HD200 MP2 Music Issues / Questions

I'm working on getting my music collection into my Sage client/server system.

I have music files as MPEG Layer 2, 44100, Stereo, 256 kbps. I'd like to prevent re-encoding, so I want to save what I have as-is, but tagged.

So, a MP2 file tagged with ID3 seems to be recognized by Sage. They'll show up in the screen correctly with album art. There's no reason that ID3 shouldn't work okay as long as it's wrapped around an MPEG audio file.

The rub is Sage PC clients will play these files, but the decoder in the HD200 seems put off by the fact that an MP2 has a tag. I imagine it doesn't know to read past the tag to find the audio, so it just gives up.

Is there an easy fix, or do I have to hope and wait for an update for the low-priority music system?

Also, is there a limit to the size of the library? I don't wnat my system to slow to a crawl or the wiz.bin to get nuked if I import thousands of songs.
