EPG Problems with 2.0.14

I am having problems getting guide data in 2.0.14.

I found the following error in the logs:

Mon 3/22 12:47:27.406 ERROR Updating EPG Source DIRECTV - USA
Mon 3/22 12:47:27.446 ErrorText:expand called on DIRECTV - USA at Mon 3/22 12:31:02.718 expandedUntil=Mon 3/22 12:19:40.243 confirmedUntil=Wed 12/31 19:00:00.000
EPG Expanding DIRECTV - USA at Mon 3/22 12:31:02.720
Repeated errors in communicating with server :java.io.EOFException

Looks to me like some channels did recieve updates in the guide, but most are 'No Data'

What server does this thing get the EPG info from?

I just made some headway, I actually had All Channels (DirectTV) enabled, and I was having this problem.

I disabled them all, and just enabled ESPN and ESPNNews, the latter did not have any guide data, and sure enough, the data came down in about 5 minutes for that channel.

Sound like normal functionality? Maybe too many channels enabled causes problems?

No that doesn't sound like normal behavior. Sorry but I have to ask... Do you have the latest Java installed?

This is a fresh box, so Java runtime was installed by Sage, version 1.4.2 SE

There was a similar post on here last week I think. The person attached their log file and it was identical to what you have there. He said he had reinstalled many times and got those errors everytime.

You are right Falchulk, found it here

Sorry for wasting your time guys, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

There are some possible solutions in there that I will try out.

My problem must be deeply rooted. After reinstalling 2.0.14 and restoring the .Properties file, I went to do a channel setup. When doing so, I get 58+ megs (yes, megs) thrown into the Sage_0.txt, just filled with error lines like:

Mon 3/22 13:32:08.796 at sage.r.a(unknown source)

You'll probably want to update to the latest Java from Sun to run 2.0, it has be reported to fix a number of problems.

Stranger89 has a good idea. You also might want to scrap using your sage.properties and just redo the setup. If that works its something in your properties file.
