1080p WVC1 mkv playback

I am having a problem with playback of mkv file using WVC1 1080p video...

The test/encoder machine is a Win7 laptop (Dell Latitude D630)... WMP12 playback is great with the file with no issues..

The issue starts when Sage is installed (Client in this case). WMP12 now only shows a single frame then pauses. My Sage box (Win XP) has the same behavior in WMP11. Sage gives a playback exception..

How do I get these files to play nice with Sage??

Installing the MPC codecs worked for me.

Because you have to sync the 2, and almost everyone uses the audio to sync with. (at lease that's the way I understand it)

BTW, the only way I can get a WVC-1 video to work, is in PowerDVD, and that is with and i7 desktop and a high end video card! Note to hijack a thread, but can anyone help me on that!

Thanx..

Im using much lower end hardware (Dell Latitude D630 laptop).. Im gonna guess that Sage cannot handle these files then. With my hardware anyways..

I only wish that Sage didnt break the codecs as the files played fine in other apps before Sage was installed (had to reinstall Win7 to be able to play the files again)

I tried running these before installing SageTV, and could not get them working GOOD with any windows players, and I tried at least 4. PowerDVD was the only one. I can't think of anything SageTV would do that would mess up that codec.

Make sure WMP is using the right codecs for these files. I recommend using a decoder that supports DXVA such as CyberLink AVC/H.264 Decoder or ArcSoft Video Decoder. And use Directshow Filter Manager to make sure that these have the highest merit vs a codec pack or whatever. If anything double check what filter WMP is trying to use.
